The
Cool Beans is a 26 foot Mako center console powered by twin 2007 Evinrude ETEC
175 hp outboard engines - the cutting edge in outboard technology. She
was completely overhauled during the winter of 2005-2006, gaining a closed
transom, bracket and nearly 3 additional feet in length - putting her
right at 28 ft in overall length. She carries
a full suite of the latest electronics including a 1000 Watt Lowrance
Color recorder with WAAS GPS/ mapping system, ICOM VHF and cellular phone. In addition, she is equipped with redundant
DGPS, Loran and VHF radio to accomodate any unforeseen equipment failures.
She is also equipped with a full color, 52 mile radar enabling her to
locate even the smallest packs of birds as well as maintain a watchful eye
on thunderstorms and weather concerns. The Cool Beans carries the latest in U.S.C.G.
safety equipment, including E.P.I.R.B., to ensure a comfortable voyage and safe return.
Additional features include padded knee rails, full-spray curtains, outriggers,
downriggers, crow's nest and onboard storage for 25+ rods. Tackle consists of rods and
reels by Penn, Diawa, Shimano and Star.
The Mako is an extremely seaworthy boat and is one of the most popular hulls among
professional guides and fishing teams throughout the United States. Designed to run over
long distances through rough waters, she cruises in comfort at a speed of 28
knots and has
a top speed of 43 knots, putting you on the fishing grounds far ahead of
virtually all boats in the local
charter fleet. With a fuel capacity in excess of 150 gallons, she has a maximum range in
excess of 300 nautical miles. She has plenty of room for parties of 4 anglers to fish in comfort
and lots of ice and storage space to preserve your catch. On those not-so-nice weather
days, full, wrap-around spray curtains ensure that you and your party stays nice and dry.
