Chili and bacon beans on toast is the best weekend brunch

This week I have selected five products that are great gifts. Recipe-wise, I make my bacon and chili beans – a great option for Sunday morning brunch.

As a country, we are incredibly fortunate to have incredibly bright, intuitive, and value-driven creators. I’ve always really admired people who come up with an idea and turn it into a product that adds to a person’s life. This week let me introduce you to the five products that really impressed me this year that would make an amazing gift.

Perfect for kids: the soothing caterpillar from the Fairy Door Company

To say I like this product is an understatement. It is the creation of the famous fairy door company. The idea behind the Weighted Plush Toy and Timer is to help kids master their big, overwhelming emotions. It comes with a guide on how to teach your child to use their breathing effectively to calm themselves down when they’re feeling overwhelmed. My daughter is 6 and loves her soothing caterpillar.

Perfect for a friend or co-worker: Voya Candle

I launched my health and wellness online store exactly one year ago: Voya is one of the companies I stock and their products are incredibly popular. In particular, Voya candles have been very popular with my customers. I have two at home, one in the kitchen and one in my bedroom. I always feel like I’m turning on a relaxation switch when I turn them on. I also use their body wash and again it feels like I take a moment to be fair when I use their products.

Wellness advice: Most of us are busy every day. To help manage this, I started to introduce time stamps into my day. If I think a task is going to take 30 minutes, I take an additional five minutes into account. It gives me time to stop and take stock during the day. Think about where you might find it helpful to factor in five minutes of buffer time each day.

Movement of the week: Calf elevation is a simple movement that can be done in your everyday life. The next time you brush your teeth, lift your feet a few inches to stay upright on your tiptoes for 5 to 10 seconds. Repeat this several times and by the time you are done brushing your teeth, you will have done 20-30.
