Flagler Sportfishing Club donates $ 10,000 to DAV

The Flagler Sportfishing Club donated $ 10,000 to Chapter 86 of American Veterans with Disabilities at the club reunion in October. The donation came from proceeds from the club’s 2020 Annual Classic held last month. The meeting was held at VFW 8696 located at 47 Old Kings Rd N., Palm Coast. The money collected will be used for the operating expenses of the DAV.

“We were happy to donate again to our friends at DAV,” said club president Chris Christian. “The money donated was raised through our 24th Annual Classic Tournament.”

The club has more than 300 members, including around 100 veterans. Sixty boats and one kayak participated in the tournament this year. It was led by co-directors Dana Syens and Rita Waddell and had 120 participants.

The Flagler Sportfishing Club is one of North Florida’s largest fishing clubs and represents members from six counties in and around Flagler County. The club supports inshore, near shore, offshore, kayak, pier / bridge and surf fishing, with the help of our many local sponsors, through education and tournaments for all family members. . The club hosts 11 free club tournaments throughout the year and an annual public charity tournament, with two children’s clinics and two new member clinics each year. FSC is all about fishing and learning as a beginner or learning advanced techniques to accomplish the great sport of fishing.
