The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa, with a 3,200-square-foot pier, sits on the edge of Tampa Bay.
Want to cook your own dinner in the local waters? This is now possible thanks to the Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa, thanks to the establishment’s new partnership with Top 5 Fishing Charters.
Customers wishing to book a charter can do so for up to four boaters. However, they shouldn’t make the dining experience of the Beach Restaurant & Bar with Executive Chef Joe Garcia optional. (This is optional, but why not go?)
Dubbed Hooks & Cooks, the experience allows boaters to feast on their catches prepared in any style, as well as a side dish and a drink. Guests also have the option of adding what they’ve harvested that day to signature dishes, including beer-battered fish and chips, fish tacos, Thai salad, and pan-seared fish.
Available year-round, charters – which also include dockside pickup, fishing instruction from experienced charter captains, and a lesson in Tampa Bay’s sought-after game fish – start at $ 600. But that rate gives guests a one-night hotel stay, Hooks & Cooks, and breakfast for two.
Spring trevally are coming, after all.
