With a newborn baby and a new album, you could say that Natti Natasha has been very busy. In May, she gave birth to her daughter, Vida Isabelle, after fearing that she could never get pregnant, and now she happily immerses herself in everything related to motherhood.
So much so that she says it was the inspiration for her new album, Nattividad. The project represents somewhat of a rebirth for her, a fusion of her two identities as an urban mother and singer, says Natti.
“I had a little moment of crisis where I was like I don’t know if society is going to understand how a Latina woman who represents the urban world is going to be a mom because I’m very explicit. I never hide what I mean. I’m not afraid of it, “she said Women’s health. “But that’s who I am and I feel like all women need to be happy in every aspect of their life. I don’t see why we need to ask permission for this.”
To work on his album, Natti actually set up a makeshift studio in his kitchen, as his wooden table could hold much of the audio material. And while Natti spent a lot of time working there, you’ll rarely find her cooking. “I like to cook if I don’t have to pick up,” she jokes.
But with such a busy schedule, there’s no way Natti can get through her days without fill up, especially with his favorite everyday dish: beans. Yes, Natti says she really loves beans.

Natti isn’t the breakfast type of person, she says, but if she has anything, it’s usually oatmeal. “I do a little groats with water. I put it on a boil or in the microwave and cover it. Then I take a spoonful of protein, put it in there and mix it up. “
Not only does the protein add some nutritional value to her morning meal, but she says it also makes the oatmeal consistency mushy, which she loves. Then, she crowns it all with strawberries, blueberries or bananas.
After dealing with digestive issues a few years ago, Natti decided to go vegetarian in 2015, but she also says she’s never been a big meat eater. However, she ate a lot of fish when she lived in the Dominican Republic.
Although she tried to go vegetarian Strictly for her health, she noticed that the diet made her feel better overall, and she stuck to it. So, for lunch these days, she might try something like seasoned tofu, or Beyond meat with salad, or a bean stew. It is reminiscent of a typical Dominican lunch, called “la bandera”, which is usually a dish with a serving of rice, some kind of beans or legumes and a choice of meat.
She also tries to make sure she has a side of veg in order to get a healthy dose of vitamins, and close by, her favorite condiment. “Something I could never not have is ketchup.”
His dinner is roughly the same. She could have plantains with rice and beans, and a side of avocado. “I don’t change my menu much to tell you the truth,” she admits. Sometimes she adds a Quorn product to it.
Natti is a huge fan of his vegan versions of foods like burger patties, chicken cutlets, and fish fillets. “It’s like chicken. It’s good, and it’s got a lot of fiber. So it’s good to go to the bathroom,” she says.
The other days, she could have her favorite vegetarian eggplant. “I love eggplants with a passion. My mom’s family is from Lebanon, so they eat a lot, and she’s been cooking them for me since I was little and I love it. She loves eating them in lasagna, but admits. that she loves it fried too.
Another of his favorite dishes is the “pastelon de platano maduro”. It’s like a shepherd’s pie, except instead of potatoes, you mash ripe plantains.
Snacks and desserts
When it comes to snacks, Natti prefers having almonds or peanuts, or having a Quest protein bar.
Occasionally, she may also have crackers and queso geo, a firm-textured Dominican cheese typically coated in red wax. Cheese is one of the reasons she can’t go fully vegan. “I wanted to be vegan, but I love cheese, so I can’t give up,” she stresses.
When Natti craves something sweet, she tries to find her solution by eating another Dominican dish, “dulce frio”. It is a trifle that closely resembles the very lick cake.
For Natti, it’s all about discipline and balance. She eats clean when she can and makes sure she works out. “I get up in the morning and do some type of exercise, like running or boxing,” she said. Billboard.
