OSWEGO, NY – Two local charter captains will be featured this month on the Outdoor Channel Outfitters television network. Captain Dan Coleman and his Strike King charter will be the star outfitters on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday September 6, 7 and 11. Captain Greg Gehrig and Top Gun Charter will be featured on September 20, 21 and 25.
Segments air at 9 a.m. Monday, 11 a.m. Tuesday, and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
An Outdoor Channel film crew spent several days in Oswego County in early July, fishing for salmon and trophy-sized trout on Lake Ontario. Both boats are based at Wright’s Landing Marina in Oswego.
“The fact that Outdoor Channel has two licensed outfitters based in Oswego is a testament to the fantastic fishing opportunities we have in Oswego County,â€? said David Turner, director of the county’s community development, tourism and planning department. “We are just entering the fall salmon season and we are already hearing about 36 lbs. salmon caught. It should be a very productive fall for anglers here in Oswego County.
