Preston Students: Swap beans for a burger at two local pubs this Monday for charity!

Next Monday, October 11, the Adelphi and Roper Hall in Preston are offering students the chance to swap a tin of baked beans for a burger, all for charity!

For one day only, if Preston’s students bring a can of baked beans to either pub, they can receive a completely free burger.

Each can of beans exchanged will then be delivered to a local Noor food bank or the Salvation Army, to make sure nothing is wasted.

If students bring a can of beans to Adelphi or Roper Hall on Monday, they will receive a free burger and donate to a good cause.

Daniella Birkbeck, Managing Director of The Adelphi, said: “It helps the students who can have a lot of cans of beans, so that we can have a full stomach and they can enjoy a good burger, and then it’s also something good to give to our local community as we donate to our local food banks.

“The Adelphi donates to Noor Foodbank because it’s literally right next door to us, and they do a lot of work with families, making sure they can get good packs of food, so that’s a good cause.”

The Adelphi and Roper Hall in Preston are both part of the Stonegate group, and the project, called “Bored Beans?” Extends to the entire brand, which also recently launched new food menus.

Ian Blease, Managing Director of Roper Hall, added: “Whether you are a student or not, baked beans end up on our plates more than we want to admit. We want to change that for new and old students in the city, so for just one day we’ll be welcoming them through our doors with a box in hand, ready to swap it for a burger. This will not only give them a chance to refuel, but also to come and try our menu and see what we are. We can’t wait!

The Adelphi will donate the boxes of baked beans to the nearby Noor food bank.

The can of beans must be minimum 400g and dated, but no other conditions apply.
